BIG RIG ACCIDENT: Big Rig Crash Causes Multi-vehicle Accident in Interstate 80

Sacramento- A chain-reaction crash involving at least six big rigs and 15 vehicles has killed one person and shut down westbound Interstate 80 during a heavy snowstorm in the Sierra.
According to Sgt. Curtis Fouyer one big rig rolled over two or three vehicles at around 1:30 pm, near Yuba Gap, 70 miles east of Sacramento. Fouyer said he found a man who looks at the age of 60’s died. He is not certain if he was in one of the crushed vehicles.
Other motorists called police to report that they were trapped but not injured. The crash occurred just after officials required tire chains on the interstate.
The eastbound I-80, the main corridor between Northern California and Nevada has been closed. Officials hope to reopen the interstate on Friday night.
