BIG RIG ACCIDENT: Big Rig Collision Sends Two to Hospital
November 18, 2010
Wasco – At least two people were injured after being involved in a Thursday morning head-on collision between two big rigs, the California Highway Patrol said.
The driver of a Mitsubishi car that was travelling along eastbound on Highway 46 allegedly tried to pass traffic near Smith Avenue. It sideswiped a semi-truck on the westbound lane and hit another head-on.
The car’s driver sustained moderate injuries while one truck driver had minor burns. Their names have not yet been released, but both have been taken to the hospital.
Parts of Highway 46 were shut down momentarily while crews cleaned up the crash.
