Camarillo - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recently announced a recall that covers more than 1,400 rechargeable batteries for cordless phones imported from China by Lenmar Enterprises.
In its website, the consumer agency warned consumers from using the recalled products which may overheat and cause fire and burn injuries, adding that these should be immediately returned to the retailers for a refund.
Lenmar officials confirmed six reported cases of batteries overheating, damaging the phones. Meanwhile, the company said no consumer has sustained burn injury.
The recalled batteries, which has a date code 0809, has been sold by retailers and electrical product distributors nationwide between July and August last year.
According to CPSC, about 80 percent of recalled products in 2008 were imported from China.
