Banned Cribs still Sold in Second Hand Stores
December 2, 2009
Washington — Cribs that were manufactured from 2000 to 2001 were still sold in second hand stores. Others still use it in their houses even though these cribs were already recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), investigators learned Wednesday.
Recently, the agency had recalled additional two crib models because of the death of a one-year-old baby girl who died because of the design cutout of the Betsy crib found on its end panels.
The Molly and Betsy style made in Italy by Lajobi were already recalled in 2001. It might cause trap or strangle children and result to injuries or death.
CPSC did not stated the time they received a report of the death of child because of the crib. LaJobi will replace the end panels of the cribs that were purchased by consumers.
