ROAD SAFETY LAW: Authorities Nab Violators in Coachella Valley DUI Checkpoint

Rancho Mirage– Authorities have arrested at least 17 drivers for various offenses, including drunk driving violations and driving with suspended license or no license at all during a weekend DUI checkpoint in Coachella Valley, reports said.

Riverside County sheriff deputies said about 522 cars were screened in the checkpoint which was set up at the intersection of Highway 111 and Library Way from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. during the weekend.

Police said out of all the drivers screened, at least 20 were subjected to sobriety tests and three were found to be drunk. At least 13 other drivers were arrested for driving with suspended license or no license at all.
