TRAIN ACCIDENT: Amtrak train hit and killed adult

La Puente - Assistant Chief of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office Ed Winter has announced that train accident victim Tony Rodriguez was declared dead on the scene on Sunday after he was struck by an Amtrak train near Albert Street and Old Valley Boulevard in La Puente, reports said.
The Sunset Limited train crew said that Rodriguez, 47, was seen sitting on the track before the accident happened.
The train crew added that the horn was sounded and the victim apparently attempted to get away but fell a little bit short as the train was fast approaching.
Police are now trying to determine why Rodriguez was on the tracks. All passengers are reported to be safe.
