Drowning Accident: 27-Year Old Sacramento Man Dies in American River

Sacramento – Authorities are investigating a drowning accident that resulted in the death of one man in the American River yesterday morning.
The victim was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Solomon Egigu Berhe, 27, of Sacramento.
According to witnesses, Berhe allegedly jumped into the river for a swim shortly before 7:50 am, but soon disappeared.
Berhe was not wearing a lifejacket at the time.
Responding firefighters had to use a helicopter to find Berhe along the river.
The body was found at about 8:34 am near the Sarah Court access in Carmichael.
There are still no available information about any possible causes of Berhe’s drowning.
