May 25, 2009
Oakland, California - A woman believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol crashed her car into a concrete wall along Interstate 880, killing two of her adult passengers while leaving two toddlers in critical condition.
The California Highway Patrol said Tiffany Reynolds, 26, who survived in the accident with a broken neck, will face multiple charges including drunk driving, gross negligence, and vehicular manslaughter.
According to police report, the car crashed into the wall early Monday morning which instantly killed Reynolds’s domestic partner Sara Tierra and the latter’s brother David.
Meanwhile, Sara’s three-year-old twins were immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors said the two boys are on life support machines.
Initial investigation revealed that the two toddlers were not sitting in car seat which is a clear violation of the state’s traffic law.
Because of the impact, police said that one of the toddlers was thrown outside the car.
