Porterville – A female driver suffered major injuries Wednesday morning after her vehicle crashed into a dirt embankment eastbound of Avenue 96, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Connie Monethichack, 23, of Porterville, was heading east on Avenue 96 approaching the T-intersection with Road 192 when she failed to yield and collided with an embankment. According to authorities, the vehicle went airborne several feet high and landed on its wheels.

Monethichack and another passenger, Ryan Hulon, 29, suffered injuries and were brought to Sierra View District Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a one-year-old child, who was also aboard the vehicle, was not hurt.
