VEHICLE COLLISION: 1 hurt in 55 Freeway collision

Santa Ana – Two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of 55 Freeway, Monday afternoon which left one injured, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to CHP officer Dennis Quesada, a Ford collided with a Cadillac at about 12:40 pm at Edinger Avenue. One person was injured and treated by paramedics, but refused to be brought to a hospital.

The accident caused severe damage to both vehicles and flatbeds were used to remove them from the road. The road was closed for about 30 minutes as authorities had to clear out the scene of debris after the accident.

Investigators are still identifying factors that may have caused the collision.
