1-Year Old Dies after Falling in Spa

Hacienda Heights - A One–year old child died after falling into a spa at a home in Hacienda Heights Monday afternoon, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.

The accident occurred in the 16500 block of Circa Lane and emergency officials arrived at the scene at about 3:51 p.m.

They quickly rushed the child to Queen of the Valley medical center.

According to officials, Sheriff’s deputies shut down several streets around the area so the ambulance could get to the hospital immediately.

Authorities believe that the incident was accidental.

It appeared that there was a miscommunication as to who was attending to the child, Sheriff’s Department officials said.
